Raul joins XIP with a decade of experience across investment banking and engineering, spanning power infrastructure, electrical equipment, low-carbon fuels, conventional energy, and waste and carbon management.

Prior to XIP, Raul was a Vice President in Jefferies’ Energy Transition Investment Banking Group, where he helped build the firm’s energy transition franchise as its first dedicated Associate and supported its inaugural mandates across CCUS, RNG, SAF, and battery recycling. Over his time there, he advised on 30+ transactions across M&A, IPOs, structured equity, private placements, and debt financings. Selected transactions include the Forgent Power Solutions IPO, BKV’s IPO, BKV’s $500 million JV with CIP, Energy Vault’s preferred equity and convertible debt financings, and sell-side mandates for Swift Current Energy, Burnham RNG, and Carbonvert, among others.

Before transitioning to banking, Raul was a reservoir and production engineer at Kinder Morgan, where he led CO2 EOR optimization, capital planning, and board-approved development initiatives.

Raul holds an MBA from Yale School of Management and a BS in Mechanical Engineering with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
