Michael Nitzberg
Vice President
Michael joins XIP with a decade of experience across investment banking, private equity and project finance, with a particular focus on renewable energy and power-generating assets. Immediately before XIP, Michael served as Director of Finance at IonicBlue, a JV between Apollo Global Management and Johnson Controls, a leader in building technology. At IonicBlue, he was responsible for supervising all modeling and analytics for EaaS (Energy-as-a-Service) transactions.
During his time leading the North American M&A and Project Finance team for an international IPP, Michael closed more than $350 million in construction debt, tax equity, and term loans. He began his career in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division, where he supported M&A advisory and capital-raising initiatives in their natural resources sector across transactions totaling over $4 billion. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a major in Economics and minor in Mathematics.
