Aaron Richardson
Principal
Aaron brings nearly 15 years’ experience as an investment banker, private equity investor, and entrepreneur focused almost exclusively on the critical infrastructure ecosystem. Aaron has arranged and or executed more than $15 billion of infrastructure-centric or adjacent private capital opportunities. He has also served in both private company CFO and Senior Advisor roles in the infrastructure services and technology sectors.
Prior to joining XIP, Aaron founded and led SMC Infrastructure Partners, an independent sponsor focused on acquiring infrastructure-focused contractors and service providers, assembling a team of twelve professionals, completing two acquisitions and securing combined investment capital and financing partnerships totaling in excess of $1 billion. Aaron graduated with honors from University of Pittsburgh, where he studied Economics and Philosophy. He was a James B. Tafel Scholarship recipient and was awarded the McKay Prize in Economics. Aaron was also a member of the University of Pittsburgh Rugby Football Club.
