Location: Initially remote, with mandatory relocation to West Palm Beach and full-time in-office presence anticipated by year-end 2025

XIP (Expedition Infrastructure Partners), a newly established merchant bank, founded by industry veterans Robert Sternthal and Scott Troeller and with substantial private capital backing, is seeking 1-2 exceptional analysts to join a growing team.

For more than 20 years, Rob has been a leading investment banking executive and recognized platform builder across the renewable power, energy, ESG and real assets sectors, advising on more than $25 billion of transactions, holding senior leadership roles at Piper Sandler, CRC-IB and Rubicon Capital Advisors. Rob also established and led multiple real estate and asset-backed securities practices for Credit Suisse in the United States as well as internationally.

Scott is a private equity executive and entrepreneur with over 25 years’ experience acquiring, building, and transforming businesses into industry leaders well positioned for either public or private expansion. Scott has held executive or partner roles at JP Morgan, VSS, Fir Tree Partners, and Blue Mountain Capital, as well as co-founded and scaled two infrastructure-centric platforms: sPower, which grew to become the largest independent solar IPP prior to its sale to AES and AIMCO, and NextEdge Networks, a provider of design, construction and maintenance solutions for wireless networks.

The firm focuses on the ecosystem of businesses and critical infrastructure assets at the core of secular themes including circular economy, data & connectivity, electrification & the energy transition, infrastructure resiliency, and reindustrialization. As an analyst working across both the Advisory and Investment divisions, you’ll be at the nexus of private capital and the next generation of the infrastructure economy.

This unique opportunity offers direct mentorship from industry veterans who have built and scaled successful enterprises. Reporting to the firm’s Associates, you’ll develop comprehensive financial analysis skills while gaining deep sector expertise in rapidly evolving markets. This role provides dual exposure to both investment banking and private equity investing mandates, along with exceptional visibility into senior-level decision-making and deal execution. As an early team member, you’ll help build a best-in-class organization while developing hands-on experience across the entire transaction lifecycle in high-growth sectors critical to the economy.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis & Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive financial modeling and valuation analyses across project finance and corporate finance transactions. Support exhaustive commercial, operational, market-level, and management-focused due diligence in both the investment banking and private equity settings.
• Industry Research: Perform industry and market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Client Interaction: Assist in preparing presentations and pitch materials for clients. Actively participate in client discussions and contribute to strategic recommendations.
• Transaction Execution: Collaborate with team members to manage the execution of transactions, including due diligence, document preparation, and coordination with external advisors.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other analysts, associates, and senior leadership to ensure the successful completion of projects within tight deadlines, always adhering to the highest standards of excellence.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university. Has (or will obtain) the following licenses: SIE, Series 63, 79, 82.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, project finance, M&A, or a similar role. Renewables experience a plus.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and financial analysis. Command of Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Canva, various CRM software, and AI prompt engineering a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and quantitative reasoning skills with keen attention to detail.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Team Player: Self-motivated individual with the highest sense of integrity, strong interpersonal skills, and who is excited by the prospect of building something new.

Compensation

• The expected base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 – $110,000.
  • The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis considering a range of factors including relevant skills, experience, education, licenses and certifications held, and other things.
• In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, the position is eligible for additional types of compensation, including discretionary bonuses.
